April 22, 2017 - Bruno Mars (1)

So, believe it or not, this would be my birthday weekend! I will be turning 26 tomorrow. For this week, I'll certainly take it. While we traded a good song for an iffy one (more on that later), our Top 10 is once again looking pretty solid - including our new #1. And it does feel good to not have to search for good Ed Sheeran pictures, and overall I'll say this was a relatively good round. Also, for clarification, I turned off comment moderation, as a month has passed so I think that's enough. If things get wack again I can always turn it back on, but hopefully I won't have to do that. So without further ado, here are the songs leaving us this week.

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Million Reasons by Lady Gaga (-20)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay (+12)

New Entrants
- So, here are a few questions for you: are you guys as sick as I am of viral hits flogging the charts? Or being flooded with generic tropical house dance stuff? Do you ever feel like past hits of certain artists make you miss their thing? And does it annoy you when acts use "cake" as a reference to booty or sexual connotations, particularly spamming it in succession (cough Birthday Cake by Chris Brown and Rihanna cough)? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then bad news for you, because Flo Rida has returned with a song by the name of Cake, which is on the This Is A Challenge EP with infamous meme songs like Watch Me, Hit The Quan and Juju On That Beat. The song itself is about how he, and the hip-hop duo 99 Percent, have come to a venue not to party, but to pick up chicks, hence them saying they "only came for the cake". And in 99 Percent's verse, they literally copy/paste Flo Rida's verse and they're almost no different. What's more, when you have a man who's been known to be big for the party scene saying that he's only here to pick up and not party... That's just not right, bro. Just not right. The cake is a lie. But I'll say, at least I can consider it funny-bad. Not to mention at least it's short, clocking in at only 2:37. We'll see how far this piece of weird cake goes.

I Only Came For The Blurbs
- And not helping that is that it took out a song that after over six months, I still consider pretty solid, not to mention I know is a big fan favorite from last year. Goodbye, Starboy. Although your lyrical content might have been nonsense, Hits 1 underrated you like they did The Hills in 2015. While definitely not to the same degree as that one, you were still quite respectable. So, farewell, Starboy. You will be missed.

- It's nice to see Treat You Better finally drop into the bottom 5. Hopefully it'll leave soon. Million Reasons, however, while I have been growing out of it, I do wish had done better all-around than it did after Perfect Illusion didn't.

- I'm not surprised that Heathens is still here. Or that I still like it. I honestly don't think I'll care if it lasts a year (which it probably won't, but that'd be interesting).

- Our debuts from two weeks ago continue to do nothing here. Don't Leave I wish would do as its name says, while Lights Down Low I'm fine with flopping.

- On the other hand, two of our debuts from last week jumped exactly ten spots. And I am fine with both of them jumping, as they're both pretty solid in their own right.

- Speaking of Lights Down Low, before introducing that, Spyder spoke of MAX playing the song at a wedding for a couple that actually used that song during it. I think that's pretty interesting. Well, that's what I heard, at least.

- Before introducing Starving, Spyder mentioned Hailee Steinfeld doing a cover of Shape Of You at Coachella. I saw the clip, and I honestly don't know how to react to her saying those lines like Ed did. When Ed did it, it at least sounded amusing. But with a near-adult chick, it doesn't sound right.

- Before Chained To The Rhythm, Spyder mentioned that Katy Perry has said that she sees a therapist and how we all need help at times ourselves. She sure could use it after her Bad Blood with Taylor Swift! Also, he didn't properly introduce it. Haha.

- Now if we could please get Play That Song out of the Top 20, and likewise the countdown, that'd be great.

- At least my favorite had the biggest jump from its debut last week, so that's certainly a plus. With how well it's done elsewhere, it'd be nice to see it do as good here, too.

- And on the note of funny-bad songs, listening to Issues, Julia Michaels' vocals are so funny that it makes me feel like she's singing "bad" on purpose. It makes the song hard for me to take seriously.

- Both Rockabye and Believer are completely welcomed (back) into the Top 10 for me. Sure, stay as long as you so desire.

- So the video for Stay dropped the other day. Unintentional rhyme aside, I'll say it had an interesting idea and was kinda cool...right up until the very end. :( Spoilers: Alessia Cara runs into Zedd with her car and gets arrested.

- But finally, we get to our #1. It was interesting to see the top 2 from two weeks ago sink to a lower reach of the Top 10, then this week they both roared up seven spots. Not only that, but this is the second week in a row where the #1 has dropped at least eight spots. Geez, you'd think they would have more stability than that! But I'm not complaining at all. I am thoroughly enjoying That's What I Like and it's really hard for me to not like this song. If it doesn't hit #1 on Billboard after all's said and done, at least it did here, and I'm very much pleased with this. Definitely fitting for my birthday weekend.

Hit-Bound
American Girls by One Ok Rock
There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back by Shawn Mendes (debut)
Still Got Time by Zayn featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR
The Cure by Lady Gaga (debut)
Good Life by Kehlani featuring G-Eazy
Break My Heart by Hey Violet
Sooner Or Later by Aaron Carter
Good Time, Good Life by Erin Bowman
Swalla by Jason Derulo featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj
Attention by Charlie Puth (debut)
Overwhelming by Jon Bellion
Kissing Strangers by DNCE
Good News by Ocean Park Standoff
Wicked by Mansionz featuring G-Eazy

- So we lost I Feel So Bad and Talk Too Much. The latter unsurprisingly, but the former I did hear on the station earlier in the week so I don't think it's out for good.

- Well, to start our round of new arrivals here, we have more Shawn Mendes. I'll say, I am liking this new song of his. I don't know who told him to try to go Latin, but for some reason...it actually works for me. More when it debuts.

- We also have more Lady Gaga. The Cure, while not with a bad narrative, has weird production behind it. I'll probably have more to say on that matter later as well.

- Before introducing Good Time, Good Life, Mikey Piff mentioned that Erin Bowman's musical debut was singing the theme song of the 12th season of the Pokémon anime, Diamond and Pearl: Galactic Battles. Very interesting. In addition to that, this was the 10th anniversary of the US release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, the first main series game for the DS that featured things like Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. And while they haven't held up today as well as they did when they were new, they opened the road for games that would establish on what it introduced, like Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Black 2 and White 2, X and Y, and now Sun and Moon. ...And there I go again.

- That's right, Swalla is my new favorite song on Hit-Bound. It's so weird but I just can't help but like the song. I don't even know why.

- And then we come to a new single from Charlie Puth. I'm sure many of you just want this guy to go away after Marvin GayeOne Call Away and We Don't Talk Anymore, but to tell you the truth, I'm enjoying this new single of his. It sounds good at least, but once again I'll have more words for it if it debuts.

Also, because it's my birthday weekend, let's do a YouTube15 take, shall we?

Starboy by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk
Down by Marian Hill
Be Who You Are by The Kooks
Closer by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey
Me & You by Lawrence
24K Magic by Bruno Mars
1 Night by Mura Masa and Charli XCX
Rockabye by Clean Bandit featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie
Hey Ma by J Balvin featuring Pitbull and Camila Cabello
Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran
Waterfall by Stargate featuring Sia and P!nk
Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay
Run Up by Major Lazer featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and Nicki Minaj
That's What I Like by Bruno Mars
Symphony by Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson

- I'm surprised Starboy and 24K Magic are still here. Not necessarily complaining about either, but it's pretty impressive. Closer doesn't surprise me though, because Closer.

- Then we have Down by Marian Hill. You know, the song that got big because of the Apple AirPods commercial, and is regarded by many as the same song as Gold by Kiiara, which was among the most infamous songs of 2016. I will say that I feel like it has at least somewhat of a proper narrative, but it's not exactly ideal and doesn't have very much going on. It's amusing, at the least.

- Be Who You Are is another song in the vein of 2000's rock. And those I do like in some sense.

- 1 Night is definitely an improvement from the crappy After The Afterparty, as it doesn't feel as juvenile and it's not lifeless or as overproduced. Something I could get down to.

- Of all the songs in blue, I would say that Run Up is the one closest to red. It would probably be red if it weren't for Nicki Minaj's verse. As for Me & You, that song isn't necessarily bad, but it's pretty lame substantially.

- And that brings me to the representation from the new Furious movie: Hey Ma. Contrary to what I may have said before, this one was a grower. Pitbull and Camila Cabello are two acts I would definitely see fitting into a Latin based song like that. And the latter's presence is minimal, and as I said, she looked gorgeous in the video for the song. J Balvin does most of the work on this. So yeah. I kinda like it.

- We also have a collaboration between Stargate, one of the more mixed hit creators of this decade, and one who made one of the more infamous songs of last year among YouTubers but one of the most beloved by the countdown fam. Waterfall is quite pretty, and sounds similar in structure to Diamonds by Rihanna from 2012, which Sia had writing credit on before she really started to gain traction with Chandelier. Both singers sound quite well on this.

- You know, for as much praise as I gave both Something Just Like This and 24K Magic, Symphony I might like just as much as both of those. That song has been doing pretty well outside of the states, so here's to hoping it'll cross over here, because if it does, I'll likely have yet another frontrunner for my top songs of the year.

Most Missed Song: Adventure of a Lifetime by Coldplay - Remember how I was just talking about Stargate? Yeah, both this and Hymn For The Weekend are among songs they produced.

Favorite Countdown Song This Week One Year Ago: I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner — Who would have thought that the Cooler Than Me guy would be someone capable of making himself look lame and actually make it sound interesting?

Make Me Like You by Gwen Stefani — I still remember watching the video for this song the night of the Grammys last year and how it was shot. And I do wish that they had given her more of a chance after such a long time away. I mean, I'd take this over Hollaback Girl, that's for sure.

QOTD: Do you think Symphony will cross over to the states and be successful here? As I said, the song's been big outside the US, and given that Clean Bandit have had two top 10 hits and Zara Larsson cracked the Top 20 last year, so if it gets pushed to pop radio (which hopefully they will with Rockabye dying down), I think it has a chance at becoming a summer hit. I can only hope.

Thanks for reading, everybody!

April 15, 2017 - Ed Sheeran (1)

This has to be one of my favorite countdowns of the year so far. Our Top 10 is all-around looking quite respectable, and we had a pretty good set of debuts, including an early frontrunner for my top songs of the year. We'll get to that later, but I definitely liked this week, even if there were some things I could do without. There might not have been all too much activity, and I am getting a little tired of searching for good Ed Sheeran pictures, but I'm pleased with this. Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: HandClap by Fitz And The Tantrums (-14)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Heavy by Linkin Park featuring Kiiara (+21)

New Entrants
- Let's get the least interesting debut out of the way first. I've never been much for Halsey, as my thoughts on New Americana I'm sure I've made no secret. I actually kinda liked Not Afraid Anymore from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, and Closer is actually growing on me (more on that later), but Now Or Never isn't doing much for me right about now. I don't really have that much to say about it, but that chorus feels too reminiscent of that of Needed Me by Rihanna, which had her stretching out that titular line and was rather cheesy. But I guess the lyrical content is alright enough, something about a relationship that feels destined to fail while she wants in. But I guess it's alright for now. Eh.

- Then we have the fourth member of One Direction to create a solo work, with Harry Styles. It's no surprise that he'd get his time eventually, seeing as he's usually given the lead when they were doing their thing. His first solo release, Sign Of The Times, has entered. And I have to say that I'm liking this. It feels like it tries to mash together many sounds from the old days, and it does succeed on that front for me. As for the lyrical content, it's about how he wants to not be in despair during difficult times. We've had that plenty of times, but I think he sells it. Although I will say, the original version of this song is really long, almost six minutes, but the radio edit does cut quite a bit of that down. And here's a bit of fun trivia for you: one of the people behind this song, Jeff Bhasker, has done quite a bit of work for other artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, and Bruno Mars (guess which songs for the latter he worked on). He played quite a bit of work on this one. So yeah, I am liking this right now. But that could change in time. We'll see.

- Following that we've got Calvin Harris, who's back after his two representations from last year, one of which didn't do much at all and one of which I may have liked at first but did not stick with me in the long run (or any of us I think, except Graham). This time, he grabbed an unusual set of partners with Frank Ocean and Migos for a new song named Slide. And this is definitely better than either of his two 2016 releases. His production here does feel smooth and upbeat, and even though the lyrics don't equate out to much beyond basic luxury rap, it's still a fun song for me. So it's surely welcomed here by me, and we'll see if it lasts.

- So, you know how sometimes you expect one thing, but what you get is totally different? When I first heard that The Chainsmokers would be working with Coldplay, I was not exactly looking forward to it, and I knew others weren't, either. Then the song dropped, name of Something Just Like This. First listen I was like, "Ah, this is okay. People are gonna call this another Roses, though." A couple listens later I thought, "Okay, I'm starting to like this more." Soon after, I think I had a frontrunner for my top songs of the year. I've listened to this so much throughout March and it's just been a shining spectacle for me. And as one Coldplay song exits, another enters, and here it is now on the countdown. The lyrical content, described by the duo as "about a love that doesn't need to be superhumanly perfect", is quite sweet, I'd say. And yes, I do understand the drop is virtually identical to that in Roses, as mentioned, but this feels like there's more of a build to it and without the annoying echos that were in it. And really, acts take what's worked best for them and use it all the time. I did talk a little bit about why I'm not opposed to acts ripping themselves off back when 24K Magic debuted, and yeah, that still stands. So while this duo has made some stuff that's worked for me to a degree, none of it just shines as beautifully as this does. And the icing on the cake has to be the final minute of the song where the guitar comes in over the drop. I don't even know what else to say here. Honestly guys, I feel bad even talking about this. I know I'm probably overrating this a bit, but do I care? Not at all. The point I'm trying to get across is, as much as The Chainsmokers have tested my patience in the past, and I wasn't a fan of their album, for me this song is just beautiful in every sense of the word, and is easily my new favorite song on the countdown. With it being in the Top 5 of the Hot 100 and iTunes right now, let's hope that Hits 1 gives it the proper treatment.

I Want Something Just Like Blurbs
- As far as our exits go, I won't exactly be missing Scars To Your Beautiful much, at least not right now. Same with Everyday. Not surprising that one tanked. I Got You was a grower, but I'm not heartbroken to see it flop. Hymn For The Weekend, on the other hand, will be missed by me. I also liked it every week it was here, and no I'm not saying that just because of Adrian. Many YouTubers seem to agree that this was a quality track, too. I considered both the original and the Seeb remix to have their advantages, even if Hits 1 went with the less preferred one. It managed to scrape its way onto the final Top 45, which was pretty pleasing. So yeah, as Adrian said, you will certainly be missed.

- Before introducing Starboy, Spyder talked about how word on the street was that you can buy the house that was used in the music video for the song, which he believed to be a load of blasphemy, unless you have $6.3 million or so. I mean, dude even has a hard time paying taxes at the beginning of the week! Something like that, I don't remember what he said. Anyway, while I do prefer its successor, the song has stuck around alright.

- Of our debuts last week, only one did anything substantial, that being All Night getting right near the Top 20. I do wish Don't Leave had done better than a flimsy jump though.

- Seems like I Don't Wanna Live Forever is falling quickly. This was in the Top 10 two weeks ago and now it's in the bottom third of the countdown.

- So, on the note of 24K Magic, I saw a tweet that if you take the intro and play it backwards, you get something that was sampled on one of the songs on Kendrick Lamar's new album, DAMN., which just released this past Friday. And then I looked up the song on Genius and found out that is indeed the sample. Here's the proof. Honestly, when I first heard the song that intro did come to mind, so that is a clever discovery. Also, it jumping out of the bottom third of the countdown is rather unexpected. Definitely not complaining though.

- How the heck is Treat You Better still in the Top 30, let alone jumping?! Granted it's only one spot but still! Who the heck is still supporting this?! I am sick of still hearing this every day when I'm driving in my car - and god help me, hearing it inside at work, too (where they play a lot of adult contemporary). Just leave and stop polluting my radio.

- One other song making a completely unwelcome return to the Top 20 is Bad Things. This song is just about to leave the Hot 100, so I guess we'll find out how long Hits 1 clings to it even after that.

- Yes, you are reading that right. #14 is not a color-coding error. I have indeed grown into Closer once again. I don't know if it's me feeling obligated, or if it's how my family consider this "a song that speaks to millennials", or what. But it's certainly getting better for me. Maybe it's the fact that it's dying out. It's still not something I would pay money to listen to whenever, or something I'll ever call a better song than Uptown Funk, and I definitely consider their newest release better, but you get the idea.

- Speaking of I Feel It Coming, it's definitely nice to finally see that in the Top 10! But the song has been dying down elsewhere. I mean, I'm not complaining at all while it's here, but I don't think this is going to be long-lived. But I'll take what I can get! Maybe it'll have enough in it to make the final Top 45.

- Before introducing Heavy, Spyder talked about how Chester Bennington of Linkin Park said that music saved his life, in that "if it weren't for music, he'd be dead". Spyder said that while he wouldn't be the same, his life would be pretty crappy if not for that. Same with a lot of us, friends. But my god, this is the third time that this song has had the biggest jump of the week, and two of them have been over 20 spots. Once again, I'm more ambivalent to this song than anything else really, but this is pretty weird, especially for a song that many Linkin Park fans have called a big time sellout. But it'll be pretty funny if it plummets again next week.

- Before introducing It Ain't Me, Spyder mentioned that he's been getting a lot of crap for not watching the new Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, which Selena  Gomez was one of the executive producers of. I've heard some pretty terrible things about it, though. Anyway, it's no surprise that this is in the Top 5 with how much I heard it throughout the week.

- Finally, our #1. This is quite the unusual thing to see. I'm not complaining at all to see Castle On The Hill at the top, as I still like the song, but it is unusual, especially with how it's been faltering, but it has officially been released as a proper single, so it might stick around. I was surprised to see Shape Of You take that hard of a drop after spending as long at #1 straight as it did. It could end up rebounding back hard there like Hello by Adele did in early 2016, so it could have a shot at making 12 weeks at #1 like that did.

Favorite Countdown Song This Week One Year Ago: 7 Years by Lukas Graham

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
Unsteady by X Ambassadors — I pretty much said all that I needed to in the obituary when this departed two weeks ago. Now it's looking like Say You Won't Let Go wants to be to this year what this was to 2016 in having the weirdest tenure humanly possible.

QOTD: Have you listened to Kendrick Lamar's new album DAMN. yet? If so, what are your thoughts? I have, and I've only given it one proper listen but I can say that Kendrick does have some raw firepower. And it's been interesting seeing the responses to it.

Thanks for reading, everybody!

Well we got some activity going on, even if things might not seem totally in prime shape. We did get rid of a lot of unnecessary remains, but they weren't quite traded for the best quality overall. Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Death Of A Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco (-20)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Rockabye by Clean Bandit featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie (+13)

New Entrants
- So our first debut consists of Lights Down Low. As I may have said once, I do remember MAX from when he was on Nickelodeon, but I'm just not the biggest fan of his music altogether. There's really not a lot going on in this one, and then we get gnash with his own verse about what have you. Not helping his verse is the line "I promise that nobody else will ever treat you better", which brings back bad Shawn Mendes memories. We get songs about love all the time, but this isn't doing anything for me. It might grow on me, and it doesn't outright anger me at all, but I'm not pulling for this one right about now.

- On the note of acts who make appearances here every so often and not much elsewhere, we have MO, with Don't Leave. This song features Snakehips, a DJ duo who were on a couple tracks from last year that didn't gain a lot of traction at all, including Cruel with Zayn Malik, which never passed Hit-Bound. But I'm liking this. Lyrically, it's about MO begging her lover not to part with her even though the thought of it goes on in his head, wanting to love him as much as possible even though she knows how messed up she is. I'm sure we've all had times like that (except me, I'm single). But yeah, the song has a sad sentiment to it, although I'm enjoying it. So yeah. I hope to see this do well.

- Finally we have The Vamps, who had two other tracks on the countdown in the past few years, both of which were solid in their own right. But now we have All Night, which I would have to say is my least favorite of the three so far. One thing that kinda kills it for me is the "children" chanting in the chorus. Now, as far as songs that use that effect go, I know that's pretty hated for the most part. I mean, I didn't mind Mama Said by Lukas Graham as much as many did, even with that effect going on for it, but here it did get annoying for me. And the drop afterwards isn't the best. That's not to say the entire thing is bad though, and I'll say that it's closer to green than it is red, but right now I don't exactly care either way.

Turn The Blurbs Down Low
- Good riddance to all three of our exits. Make Me (Cry) thankfully flopped and wasn't with us long. As for Words, I'll reiterate what I said when the song debuted: I don't know what kind of message Daya wants to promote, but it sure isn't a beneficial one, and I'm just done with her and wish that she would just leave music for good. Honestly, that song really just made me shake my head in disapproval more than anything else. And I'm sure Adrian will be sad over Let Me Love You, but not me. The point is, none of you will be missed. Next!

- Of our current bottom 5, two of them consist of ones that took drops over ten spots down into the region. One of them I have been growing out of and the other has been here for a long time and this might be it for it after how well it's fared.

- Spyder made a mistake when introducing 24K Magic, saying that it was back up eight to #35. That was last week, silly man!

- Before introducing Bad Things, Spyder showed a snippet of a cover of Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran that Camila Cabello did with Shawn Mendes. I thought that was kinda interesting. But it was definitely pleasing to see this take the drop that it deserved. Now let's please get it out of the countdown! Also, I watched the video for the song that she was in with Pitbull and J Balvin for the new Furious movie that's releasing this coming weekend, and I will say I didn't care for the song, but she looked gorgeous in the video. I'll give her that.

- So is Play That Song going to do whatever it feels like? I'd honestly much rather it just leave.

- So The Chainsmokers dropped their debut album on Friday. I'll be honest, I didn't go in with overly high expectations, but I was underwhelmed overall. Aside from Something Just Like This and maybe one or two other tracks, there wasn't really anything I see sticking with me in the long run. I might give it another listen though. Twitter user T3chJ3t was pretty hard on the album when he reviewed it.

- Before introducing Believer, Spyder mentioned how Dan Reynolds has become a father of two twin girls. I think that's very nice news. I wonder what they'll grow up to think of his overdramatic singing. That being said, good to see this finally enter the Top 20.

- Before introducing Cold, Spyder talked about how Adam Levine was on the Howard Stern show, and when he mentioned seeing Alicia Keys wearing makeup, which he thought she doesn't do. Her response? "I'll do what the fuck I want!" Yeah, nice telling him off. That aside, I'm not happy to see this in the Top 10 again.

- Once again, Say You Won't Let Go continues to make its unexpected jump all the way into the Top 5. Seriously, this thing is a sleeper hit if ever I've seen one.

- Alongside that, both Rockabye, It Ain't Me and Stay are all solid and completely welcomed into the Top 10, so I'll take that.

- Before introducing That's What I Like, Spyder brought in his British butler friend Doosey to get formal with introducing Bruno Mars himself. That one argued that Spyder needs more excitement going on here, but he thinks things are alright enough. I know most will disagree. Anyway, I was really hoping it'd take the top spot... Please hit #1 next week!!!

Hit-Bound
Swalla by Jason Derulo featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj
Sign Of The Times by Harry Styles (debut)
American Girls by One Ok Rock
Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay
Wicked by Mansionz featuring G-Eazy (debut)
Good Time, Good Life by Erin Bowman

Talk Too Much by Coin
Overwhelming by Jon Bellion
Green Light by Lorde
Good News by Ocean Park Standoff
Cake by Flo Rida featuring 99 Percent

- So we lost Touch by Little Mix, which was disappointing. Sounds like Black Magic is the only thing these girls will be well established for here in America.

- We also lost Slide by Calvin Harris featuring Frank Ocean and Migos, but I heard it yesterday. It should re-enter in time. I think.

- Well, we have the big solo debut from yet another One Direction member. I'll talk more about Sign Of The Times when it inevitably debuts next week, but I can say I am liking it right now.

- So, Mansionz is a new group that includes Mike Posner. But Wicked does feel kind of shrill, although it does have good to it. I'm not totally on board with it at this time, however.

- I've been getting sick of Halsey. I'm not very big on Now Or Never. More words when it debuts. Adrian will probably adore it though.

- I Feel So Bad is pretty nice and smooth. It's not as good as This Girl which failed to make much of an impact, but it's nice.

- I honestly did not think we would hear more from Aaron Carter after the first half of the 2000s. Guess I was proven wrong. Sooner Or Later is kinda cool.

Most Missed Song: Tear In My Heart by Twenty-one Pilots

#1 Recommendation For Hits 1 And The Countdown: Human by Rag'N'Bone Man

Favorite Countdown Song This Week One Year Ago: 7 Years by Lukas Graham

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande — While I don't hate this as much as Adrian and Graham do or like it as much as Spectrum Pulse does, I'm kinda more in-between. Come on people, give these tweenies credit since they're growing up. They can't be all poppy happy forever.
You Don't Own Me by Grace featuring G-Eazy — Is it wrong that I didn't even remember that this was a cover for the longest time? That aside, this had a pretty weird chart run, and I wish it did better than it did.
Ride by Twenty-one Pilots — One of the most polarizing hits in recent years. And for the record, you think that one moment in the last chorus (you know the one) is either one of the worst moments in pop music in 2016 or one of the best. There is no middle ground. But didn't this song release in 2015, anyway?

QOTD: Pillowtalk, This Town, Just Hold On or Sign Of The Times? My top pick of those would definitely be Just Hold On.

Thanks for reading, everybody!
